Chucks are shoes put out by Converse. the complete name for them is 'Chuck Taylors'. I've also heard them reffered to as 'Connies', but this sounds lame (in my opinion).
People have already listed a whole lot of steroetpyes that wear chucks (really anyone can wear them, they look great and have a really simple design) but no one has mentioned the B-Boys of the late 70s through to the 80s.
While everyone know Adidas Superstars are strongly embedded in this period of history, Chucks are often overlooked.
I've seen images of B-Boy rocking chucks with the tongues out (postitioned outside of their jeans) and with FAT laces.
Just thought everyone should know. When i think of Chucks, i think of B-Boys and the Ramones.

Get the chucks mug.In the original days of Chuck Taylors..it was the only shoe really available, up until the year 2002 you could buy them for 10 dollars because all they are is canvas and hard rubber made my the blistered hands of children in sweatshops. Now that they are "popular" dumasses pay 40 to 50 bucks for these shoes. Now im not sayin they arent cool but the prices are ridiculous for the product.

Get the Chucks mug.Wow...they're SHOES people! It's sad that all of you can look at a person's shoes and assume so many things about them (ie: they're a poser prep or some "emo fag", etc etc). The first converse chuck taylor was created in 1923 when chuck taylor and converse teamed up to create a new and innovative basketball shoe ( why anyone would want to play b-ball in these is beyond comperhension) I actually own many pairs of chucks I think my collection is up to about 19, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon!!!

Get the Chucks mug.A pretty sick pair of shoes. Chucks comes from the maker Chuck Taylor. Pretty sturdy and can be worn for about a good year if worn daily. Comes in many colors and designs (stars, drawings, plaid, etc). Personally, if wanting to draw on the rubber, get a pair with white rubber. Black never comes out good unless you have a silver sharpie or whiteout.
