An expression meant to pre-emptively defer an argument based on an opposing viewpoint. It signals to the other person that you already understand their position and accept that you disagree with each other. It is a reference to the phrase "let bygones be bygones," and was popularized by the TV show "Ally McBeal."

Sorry, I think socialized medicine is a good idea. Bygones!

Bygones … you would think that in the depressive state of the world .. wars .. cost of living .. a world that will kill you to profit from you .. not to mention the climax of what we leave behind for our children ..

That people would not antagonise each other .. when realising upsetting someone .. maybe think oh I better walk away

Be the bigger man

Or bigger woman

Maybe even have some compassion and certainly not like follow someone around everywhere to the point it gets its own unique energy courtesy of urban dicks …

Then like a repeat when some guy reads that he had been impersonated to speak to a lady ..real life actual ladies do still exist btw …

Bygones … pretty clear you simply can’t let them ..
