This is the
British version of the MPAA (Motion Pictures Association of
America) and consists of
six ratings, five of which are used by Netflix and Cinemas:
Universal (
U) - suitable for all ages, nothing to enforce.
Parental Guidance (PG) - supervision recommended for under eights, not enforced.
Twelve (12)- not recommended for under twelves, supervision enforced in cinemas where it’s called “12A”.
Fifteen (15) - not recommended for under fifteens, enforced in cinemas.
Eighteen (18) - not recommended for under eighteens, enforced in cinemas.
Restricted Eighteen (R18) - not to be seen by under eighteens, enforced by law, not used in Netflix or Cinemas,
