British Board of Film Classification.
This is the British version of the MPAA (Motion Pictures Association of America) and consists of six ratings, five of which are used by Netflix and Cinemas:
Universal (U) - suitable for all ages, nothing to enforce.
Parental Guidance (PG) - supervision recommended for under eights, not enforced.
Twelve (12)- not recommended for under twelves, supervision enforced in cinemas where it’s called “12A”.
Fifteen (15) - not recommended for under fifteens, enforced in cinemas.
Eighteen (18) - not recommended for under eighteens, enforced in cinemas.
Restricted Eighteen (R18) - not to be seen by under eighteens, enforced by law, not used in Netflix or Cinemas,
