Amanormativity/amatonormativity is the set of societal assumptions that everyone prospers with an exclusive romantic relationship. Similar to allonormativity, except connotative towards romance rather than sexuality.

I'm so tired amanormativity, why can't two character be friends without getting shipped?
Why is romance considered "more than" friendship? Amanormative culture values romance more.

The assumption that a central, exclusive, amorous relationship is normal for humans, in that it is a universally shared goal, and that such a relationship is normative, in the sense that it should be aimed at in preference to other relationship types

Assuming that because someone enjoys and gets excited at the prospect of seeing a person they care about is because they secretly have a crush on them is perpetuating amatonormativity.
