Commonly done in online arguments. Alting is using an alternate account to defend yourself in an argument. A trick used by people because they don’t want to lose an argument that has no significance over their life whatsoever.

User 1: You’re racist.
User 2: No. I’m not.
User 3(alt): BE QUIET YOU ROTTEN PEICE OF HOG FECES!
User 1: Shut up, you’re obviously alting.

Using an alternate account (alt account) in order to hide your identity so you can act like yourself but no one will know it’s you. Typically used if you are popular and don’t want people to know who you are.

Friend 1: Are you alting?
Friend 2: Yes, that way I can say shit and no one will know it’s me.
