Pulling a Mavrick
'Pulling a Mavrick' is when a boyfriend and girlfriend break up, but they still like each other, but they play it off like as if they dont care about each other (most of the time its the girl that does it, not the male though) and they continuously argue and fight because they get angry at each other for doing certain things but they shouldnt because they arent going out anymore, and then, when the female gets angry at the male for doing silly little things like playing a video game or talking to another female inside a video game, then the male then has to hide it or just not do it to please the female, but then later on, the female says she doesnt actually care (when obviously she does)
Male: oi, dont tell my ex that im playing World of Warcraft, she will get pissed off

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
