Yann Martel

A critically acclaimed Canadian author who is best known for his novel, Life of Pi. He has also written two other books, The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios and Self, and soon to be releasing another, called A 20th Century T-shirt. Life of Pi has received the Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction and the Man Booker Prize for Fiction.

He was born in Salamanca, Spain on June 25th, 1963. His parents joined the Foreign Services and Martel grew up in many places, such as Costa Rica, France, Spain, Alaska, Mexico, and Canada (BC, ON), graduating from Trinity College School in Port Hope Ontario in 1981. He attended Trent University and graduated with a degree in philosophy, turning to full-time writing at the age of 27. He traveled widely as an adult, has traveled and spent time in Iran, Turkey, and India, but now is based mainly in Montreal.

church hurt 

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
