Woot, WOOT 

It occurs to me that WOOT (as in the Website that calls itself that) stands for We Offer One Thing. They offer one great deal every day starting at midnight. I just thought that made sense!

Of course, it could be that it stands for what of our things (would you like)? Or, would our offers top (this?). Whatever Our Owners Think! It goes on and on.

Woot originated as a hacker term for root (or administrative) access to a computer. However, with the term as coincides with the gamer term, "w00t".

"w00t" was originally an trunicated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.

woot-off 

Popular 'deal a day' website, woot.com, strays from its standard one item format about once a month bringing its customers many consecutive items. When one item sells out, it is replaced by another item almost immediately. This can go on for well over a day until it ends without warning, often with woot's infamous bag of crap!

A woot-off is signified by two flashing red lights below the item. As long as these lights are present, the woot-off is still going on.

David: "Great! I'm not getting any sleep tonight!"
Billy: "How come?"
David: "There's a woot-off going on! I HAVE to stay up!"

Woot-Off Headache

A chronic pain beneath the skull brought on by constantly refreshing the screen during a Woot-Off, sometimes leading to violent seizures.

Dude - I have a splitting Woot-Off headache. But it was all worth it to score that frank-ass RC helicopter. Just wish I hadn't been flopping on the floor during the Bag-of-Crap.
