A strong desire to see yourself in someone else, often powerful and or important, due to self loathing. Implies that you would unknowingly harm them to feed into the delusion. Often accompanied by para-social behavior.
1. Have you seen the way she talks about Dream? She acts like she's exactly like him, but he's nothing like her! She's being a total Vanitist.
2. My friend has lately been obsessed with Astolfo from Fate. He has been getting more and more obsessed, to the point that he gets angry when you imply that he acts nothing like Astolfo. He's being a total Vanitist about it.
