The Moxie Effect

When a woman purposely sabotages her man's look in order to make him less attractive to the opposite sex, much like Moxie drinkers can leave their nasty tasting soda in the fridge for months untouched by anyone who is thirsty, tap water is a better option. Anyone who drinks Moxie assures themselves that nobody will ever touch their soda.
Gisele Bundchen telling Tom Brady his scraggly looking hair looks "great". Clearly she has an arterial motive of making him less attractive to other models thus the Moxie Effect.

The Movie Theater Effect

A phenomena where a new business or service initially creates much excitement or popularity, followed by weeks of less business.
Person 1: Yo, do you think that the casino that just got table games is gonna be crowded the second weekend its been open?

Person 2: Na man, its the Movie Theater Effect. They were probably most crowded last weekend- this weekend they should be a lot less crowded.
Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
