release the meteor

1. to strike an individual in the genital region.

2. to lay a good blow to one's mommy/daddy button.

3. to drop the hammer on one's meat and two veg.

4. to pitch a baseball square in one's junk.
1. (To be said in agony) AAAGGGHHHOWWW! NO WAY! Your two year old son just released the meteor!

2. I was swinging the hammer, missed the nail and I released the meteor!

3. Honey, if a man is ever being inappropriate with you, just release the meteor then run!

As derived from the phrase "RELEASE THE METEOR!" said, rather screamed, by Frau in the movie Austin Powers: Goldmember, after which point, Mini Me releases the heavy hunky thick steel meteor tied to a string. The intention is to strike the globe to illustrate what will happen when the real gold meteor strikes Earth but this meteor misses the globe and "accidentally" finds it's way into Dr. Evil's General and two Colonels.

checking the meter

Euphemism used to temporarily excuse oneself from a social gathering--presumably to see how much time is left on the (non-existent) parking meter--in order to do drugs.

catch the meteor

To do something extremely unpleasant for the good of everyone only for reasons that it needs to be done.

To take one for the team, often the job of the wingman in a guy duo in terms of sleeping with the ugly chick so his friend can score with the hot one, especially true if she is extremely overweight
No one wanted to tell Judy that her body odor was extremely offensive, but Bobby realized he would have to catch the meteor or else three of them would be stuck on the road trip with her for several hours.

the meteors

The Meteors are a highly influential psychobilly band. Originally from the United Kingdom, they are often credited with giving the genre its distinctive sound. The Meteors consider themselves the first and only "pure" psychobilly band.

The Meteors were started in 1980 by P. Paul Fenech (guitar and vocals), Nigel Lewis (upright bass), and Mark Robertson (drums). Fenech and Lewis had played in rockabilly bands before, but left their former band, Raw Deal, in order to experiment with a new sound that mixed horror and science fiction lyrics with a punk rock-rockabilly crossover. This sound would later be called psychobilly.

Plug the meter

An excuse to get out of a meeting or an appointment when you need to take a dump.
Jon's early morning meeting was iterrupted by a reminder of his nachos & beers the night before. He quickly stood up and said, "Excuse me fellahs. I need to go 'plug the meter.'" Those in the know understood he really just needed to take a crap.

rooting for the meteor

What a sports fan does when their two most hated rivals face each other, especially in a championship match. Since rooting for either team would be sacrosanct, the only possible positive outcome would be for a meteor to land and simultaneously obliterate both rivals.
Mets fan, 2009
Yankees fan, 1986

Fan 1: "I'm not even watching the World Series this year. You?"
Fan 2: "Yeah, I'll be watching. I'm rooting for the meteor."
