The time of year from early January to April 15th when families and friends of public accountants are abandoned or left to fend for themselves.

Tax season is in full swing. I won't see much of my husband until April 15th.

My husband is so busy and brain-drained during tax season that he doesn't do anything but vegetate or sleep on his day off!

tax season 

a time of the year (usually February-April) where broke people that don't have a job somehow get tax money and act like they're rich. Tax money usually gets spent on Gucci, True Religion, Jordan's, and other unnecessary brands. When their tax money runs out, they go back to being broke.

Bill: Oh my, it's almost tax season again!
Bobby: Broke people that don't have a job somehow get tax money and act like they're rich.
