A TRINDTBD ("there-really-is-no-dress-there" black dress; pronounced "trint-BD") is the typical high school girl version of an LBD (little black dress), which is considered to be a high-fashion staple.
TRINDTBDs are often selected under the false presumption that they are in fact LBDs, and therefore make the wearer of the TRINDTBD feel classy. However, the TRINDTBD is much shorter and tighter than the classic LBD, usually including a low neckline and/or cut-outs.
TRINDTBDs are most commonly found at semi-formal high school dances such as homecoming. They are frequently paired with shoes that have at least a five-inch heel.
