An unfortunate state of affairs which occurs when an young lad or lady bemoans being placed in the friend zone, while no actual friendship existed to begin with.

That dude made a play for the bartender he met an hour ago, and she put him in the stranger zone with a vengeance.

Strangerzone

A state even lower than the friendzone. Often introduced to a somehow oblivious incel or femcel when they do something looked down upon, such as attempting to guilt trip someone into sex or a relationship. When someone tells you that you're strangerzoned, it means that they don't want a relationship with you, but they also don't want a friendship with you. Instead, they want to avoid you and treat you as a stranger.
