Southernism

A word that has been shortened and altered so much to the point that it is impossible to understand the message a person is trying to convey.

Examples:
They ought to = They aughta (Southernised English)
Ayorta = They aughta (Southernism Southernism)
Let's go = Lego (Southernised)
With ya did ya = witch a ditch a (Southernised)

Southernspeak

A way of speaking attributed to the South. Terms and phrases used by southerners, country folk, or hillbillys.
A Southernism is a word commonly used in southernspeak phrases.

Southernspeak: "It's been hotter'n a goat's butt in a pepper patch."
