Saltlaking

Saltlaking (noun)

A pattern of social behavior characterized by consistently low-value participation within a group. It is commonly associated with a lack of meaningful or original contributions, repeated unsuccessful attempts at humor, excessive admiration or imitation of others, and a tendency to adopt the personalities, opinions, or mannerisms of peers rather than expressing independent thought.
Saltlaker (noun): An individual who exhibits the characteristics of Saltlaking. A Saltlaker typically contributes little of substance to a group's interactions, frequently fails to engage others through humor or discussion, excessively praises or seeks approval from others, and often imitates the behavior, speech, or identity of more prominent group members instead of developing an authentic presence.
Saltlake constantly praises and supports whatever other people are doing simply to gain their approval. Instead of expressing his own ideas or contributing anything original, he follows the crowd and excessively validates others in hopes of being accepted. This behavior is a clear example of Saltlaking.
