Definition: A complex, contradictory emotional state where a person feels a mix of hate, pity, satisfaction, and regret simultaneously. Often experienced when looking back on a situation that caused pain or conflict, where part of you feels bitter about it, another part of you feels sorry for yourself or others, and yet, there’s a strange sense of satisfaction or acceptance despite it all.
