Real Event OCD

A term used to describe the feeling one gets when they are extremely guilty about something bad they did. This person will go out of their way to avoid any scenario relating to the consequences of this mistake, which oftentimes takes up a lot of mental energy and belittles the persons humanity.
Steve: OMG I can’t stop thinking about the time I called Sally ugly in middle school. I feel so bad.... I should ask my parents if we can move to another state!
John: It sounds to me like you’re experiencing Real Event OCD. There’s no need to take precautions over a “what if” scenario. If you feel so bad, apologize! She will understand.

Real Event OCD

"I keep overthinking the past, and reviewing everything about my memories to see if i did something wrong or if I am a bad person. Even though some people may reassure me, I still overthink it all," Person A says. "You might have Real Event OCD," their therapist responds.

A lighthearted reaction upon receiving disappointing news of some sort. Usually something that isn't a particularly a big deal, esp. when it primarily affects someone else - sort of a mild schadenfreude. Sometimes doubled or tripled, and possibly said in a sing-songy voice for added comedic effect to imitate a muted trumpet, which is how the meme originated.
