1. The opposite of an alpha male (an "A" male); a male who earns a grade of "F" (or "phi" in Greek) on the manliness scale.

2. A woman; a female.

The ancient Greeks rated a man's worth very similar to grades in school. The most noble and respected men were grade-A - "alpha males" - and the remaining levels of mankind were grade-B or "betas", grade-C or "chis", grade-D or "deltas", and the lowest grade was "phi"--an F. Naturally, in that era, women were ranked all the way at the bottom, with the very lowest of the low. And to this day, women are still referred to as "phi males" :D

Phi Male 

A male who hangs around females more than with males. He feels that females understand him more than his mates. Rarely heterosexual.

Phi male 

A male that doesn't bother with the concept of masculinity and invents his own masculinity by chasing what he finds beautiful.

Phi (Φ) is the number of the golden ratio and stands for beauty in general. A phi male is golden.

Because of the invention of a masculinity, some see phi males as females, but that is ideological. Anything more than shaving and cutting your hair short is seen as feminine. Popular masculinity is having no style. Phi males are the best of masculinity fused with the best of femininity.

A phi male is above an alpha male. The al of alpha means "a loser": alpha males are losing, not being phi males.

—Did you see John? He died his hair red and is wearing black nail polish with glitter. He's such a f**got.
—You can't say that! The PC term is Phi Male.
