Suddenly and inexplicably not giving a fuck at work and life in general. Often caused be completing a huge project or being blasted by a superior. A reference to the 1999 Mike Judge comedy 'Office Space', in which case the cause was hypnosis.

Employee 1: "Now that the Milkowski case is over, I have the best case of Office Space Syndrome. Let's grab a Beer."
Employee 2: "It's 9am."
Employee 1: "DGAF Nation!"
Employee 2: "Fuck it, I'm in."

Office Space Syndrome 

A condition which occurs primarily in white collar corporate environments where deserving, qualified employees are either passed over for promotion or have their employment terminated outright while their comparatively apathetic or indifferent peers achieve financial and/or occupational success.

Peter is frequently tardy or absent from work while Michael and Samir are punctual, reliable workers. Peter is promoted, but Michael and Samir are fired in order to cut costs. Peter has been the beneficiary of Office Space Syndrome while Michael and Samir were the victims of it.

If you wake up one day and decide to quit your job and move to California to surf every day, you have 'office space' syndrome.

the single most underrated comedy of all time. Released in '99, Written by the famous Mike Judge, and Starring Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston, Diedrich Bader and Gary Cole, among others.

Peter Gibbons: I don't like my job, and, uh, I don't think I'm gonna go anymore.
Joanna: You're just not gonna go?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Joanna: Won't you get fired?
Peter Gibbons: I don't know, but I really don't like it, and, uh, I'm not gonna go.
Joanna: So you're gonna quit?
Peter Gibbons: Nuh-uh. Not really. Uh... I'm just gonna stop going.
Joanna: When did you decide all that?

Arguably the best movie ever made. Written and directed by the creator of Beavis and Butthead - Mike Judge. The main character, Peter Gibbons, played by Ron Livingston, hates his repetitive, monotonous job working in Initech with his buddies Samir Naheenanajad and Michael Bolton. Fed up with his job, Peter decides to see an occpational hypnotherapist who helps him to relax by hypnotising him into temporarily not caring, however he dies before taking the hypnosis off of Peter, leaving him in a relaxed, care-free state of mind which makes for a hilarious movie.
The funniest characters in the movie are definitely Initech's software Engineers Samir and Michael, both of which who also dislike their jobs, and plan to program a virus to rip Initech off for thousands of dollars. Samir dislikes the workers for being unable to pronounce his last name, and Michael dislikes them for constantly referring to the Singer Michael Bolton, whom he hates but pretends to like in order to fit in with them and make them happy.
If you have not seen the movie, I Highly Recommend it.

Samir: "I do not understand why no one in this country can pronounce my last name, its not that difficult.. NA-HEE-NANA-JAD, Naheenanajad"

Michael: "Yeah well at least your name isn't Michael Bolton!"

Samir: "You know, there is nothing wrong with that name."

Michael: "There WAS nothing wrong with it.. until I was about 12 years old, and that No Talent Ass Clown started becoming famous and winning Grammy's."

Samir: "Why don't you just go by Mike, Instead of Michael"

Michael: "Screw that, why should i change, he's the one who Sucks!"

{Enter Peter}: "Hey guys, wanna go to Chachki's, get some coffee? I gotta get outta here, I think I'm gonna lose it"

Co-Worker: "Uh OH! Sounds like someone's got a case of the MONDAYS :-( "

I just watched Office Space last night. I love that fucking movie.

Great movie, underrated by critics (who said it was merely average.) Office space is like Dilbert...either you won't get it, and you'll think it's the most pointless thing ever...or, you just might realize it's a work of genius. I would expect nothing less from Mike Judge, creator of wordBeavis and Butt-head/word! The movie flags a bit toward the end, but is essential viewing nonetheless.
