MUSES Syndrome 

aka Multi-Sensory Sensitivity,

= chronic syndrome characterized by hyper- and/or hypo sensitivity affecting at least 4 of the 5 primary senses (smell, vision, hearing, taste and touch) and 4 of the 5 secondary senses (balance/movement, physical pain, emotional stress, temperature, and electromagnetic fields).

Caused exclusively by chronic carbon monoxide poisoning, although commonly not recognized. Misdiagnosed in 19th century as neurasthenia and hysteria and in the 20th century as chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and multiple chemical sensitivity.

In "Fall of the House of Usher," Poe describes a textbook case of MUSES syndrome in Roderick Usher, who

"suffered much from a morbid acuteness of the senses:
insipid food was alone endurable, he could wear only garments of certain texture, the odors of all flowers were oppressive, his eyes were tortured by even a faint light, and there were but peculiar sounds, and these from stringed instruments, which did not inspire him with horror."

show muse

At a rock show, the audience member with whom the lead singer establishes and maintains eye contact. The singer sings all of his/her songs to that one audience member. Causes for this behavior include:

- attraction
- performance anxiety
- a desire for a personal connection with an otherwise disinterested crowd.

The show muse may experience swoony feelings of love, or an awkward responsibility that prevents him or her from leaving to get a drink or to pee.

Sandy: "How was the show last night?"

Kate: "It was fine, but I had to pee so bad for the entire show."

Sandy: "Why the hell didn't you just go to the bathroom?"

Kate: "I was the show muse. Couldn't leave. The singer looked terrified."

Sean Moser 

A smart, usually good looking young stud who is the life of the party. Laid back, brutally honest, but sweet in the nicest of ways. Sean Moser is truly the original smooth talker. He is one of those guys that doesn't care who you are, he'd take a bullet for a complete stranger if it meant that they'd be alright. Everything he does he tries to do in a fun way. His jokes can sometimes be a bit on the controversial side. He always has a girl on his hip, but not always the same one. Truly the guy that everyone loves.
