Literatariat

Philosophically speaking, the blue-collar members of a literary community. Working writers for whom poetry, fiction, and other forms and genres of literature are not strictly the domain of the highbrow and culturally-coutured, and not confined to or controlled by academia (i.e, the MFA). Sometimes called "ham and eggers."
"The line for the SLAM competition wrapped around two sides of the warehouse, and was full of Reno's literatariat."

His version of the story was pure schmegegge.
