Latina Fishing

Latina Fishing refers to the act of someone who is not Latina deliberately altering their appearance or facial features to appear as if they are Latina. This can be done with changes through makeup, cosmetic procedures, (Changing your facial features to look Latina) photo editing, or even adopting cultural aspects associated with Latina culture.

This has become a growing concern in modern media and popular culture driven by the overfetishization and exoticization of Latina women.

These portrayals reduce Latina's to narrow harmful stereotypes for example: the false idea that all Latinas are petite and hypersexualized.
