Inverted Conspiracy Theory
A belief system that holds that only the official, surface-level, or mainstream explanation of events is real, and that any deeper or alternative account is automatically a "conspiracy theory" regardless of its evidentiary support. This inverted stance is itself a form of conspiracy thinking—a conspiracy to believe that there is no conspiracy, that all power is transparent, and that all official accounts are complete. Examples include randomia (the refusal to see patterns) and pararandomia (the inability to perceive meaningful forms). Inverted conspiracy theory is often weaponized to dismiss whistleblowers, investigative journalists, and researchers who uncover uncomfortable truths.
Example: "He called every leak a 'conspiracy theory' without examining a single document—inverted conspiracy theory, believing that the only real truth is the one authorities hand you."
