Iawor
Long goodbye - confused with 'yawor' in FNQ Queensland Australia.. The word's origin is a dialect of the kiwais tribe south sea Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 Daru Island and was brought down to far north qld by papuans migrating to australia around the 70's. The word is often and mistakingly used by the local aboriginal people who 'think' it's their language but this is not true another mistake is that Iawor is being used as a short goodbye like 'see you soon', correcting this with correct terminology 'sobo iawor'. Torres Strait Islanders also use this as some of the kiwais settled there. I know this because it was my family who left Daru Island and the kiwais tribe and brought it with them along with others. And im pretty sure I've missspelt the last half too, will come back to correct.
