The Herrero Vortex is named for the situation, whereby one finds themselves in the company of someone who talks continually, non-stop, about
stuff no one wants to hear, and apparently has the stamina to
go for hours. It's coupled with the circumstance, where you cannot easily get away. At first there
may be an interesting point made, or you just want to be polite. After a while, it becomes
annoying and you just want it to end. It could even affect your mental state, as eventually, your only goal is to escape. It gets its name from the Spanish word for blacksmith - someone who tirelessly and with fortitude, hammers away at something for hours at a
time.
Dude, I got caught in the Herrero Vortex last
night, at that
poker game. This guy just would not stop
talking, and I made some bad calls.
