A blending of the Christian and Jewish holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah, usually celebrated by interfaith families. Hannumas begins at sundown on December 24th and ends eight days later on January 1st. Hannumas ends, and a new year begins.

Hannumas is celebrated with both a tree and a menorah. Small gifts are given out each night as the menorah is lit.
Lorelai sat by the tree and opened the gift from her grandfather on the third night of Hannumas.

Ephraim a Jewish man married Mary a Christian Woman. In their inability to decide which Holiday to Observe they created Hanumas. Where they give gifts over many days rather than just one day.
