Genfiver 

Fans of the generation 5 pokémon games, most of whom grew up with them and are very biased due to nostalgia. They often preach that gen 5 is the peak of the series and vilify every game that came after it. They hate on genwunners for their treatment of gen 1, despite the fact that they do the exact same thing with gen 5. Genfivers make up a large proportion of the pokémon fandom and you can find them across all forms of media screeching about how gen 5 was the greatest achievement in world history. They also never accept any criticism of gen 5, usually responding by deflecting the criticism onto another generation. All in all, they're very annoying, hypocritical and prone to close-minded thinking.

Person 1: Gen 5 was peak pokémon and every game after it is terrible!! I grew up with it and it has a special place in my heart! People hated gen 5 so much when it was released and it's so underrated! Gen 5 has the best pokédex, music, region, story, characters, and graphics!! These games are without flaw!!

Person 2: I mean, I agree that gen 5 is good, but without flaw? We all have different opinions, but I think gen 5 is lacking in terms of the new pokémon added, region design, and slow pacing during parts of the games. And I understand that many fans disliked the games at release, but calling gen 5 underrated by today's standards is pretty dishonest considering how beloved they are now.

Person 1: You think the pokémon are bad?? Well gen 1 had bad designs too! You're just a stupid genwunner who's blinded by nostalgia!! Gen 5 is objectively perfect and the last good pokémon game ever!! Unova best region grrrrr bark bark bark!! 🤬🤬🤬

Person 2: You're pretty clearly a genfiver if that's how you react to someone having a different opinion on gen 5 than you.

Genfiver 

A person who is a fan of the generation 5 Pokémon games. They are known for their obnoxious attitudes online and for pretending gen 5 was the last good generation ever made. Most of the time they're found in comment sections, arguing with anyone who disagrees with them. They all pretty much act the same, further contributing to the toxicity of the online Pokémon community and the gen 5 glazing hive mind.

"A genfiver threatened me in an Instagram comment section today. All I said was that I like gen 6 better."

Genfivver 

A Pokémon player that believes that the 5th generation series of games far exceeds those of previous generations and future generations of games. This is mostly due to gen 5 being critically acclaimed games due to their great story telling, which created the stans of gen 5.
