The term originated from the Video-First Dating App, GOATdate. GOATdate is said to give users the most secure & comfortable Video Dating experience while eliminating common online dating frustrations like cat-fishing, endless texting, and wasted time/energy/money on in-person meetings only to find out you don't have chemistry. After matching, users GOATdate (in-app video date with a 5 minute time limit) first, and have the option to chat once there is known chemistry established in the initial GOATdate.

He looked OK in his pictures, but when we GOATdated I found out he was soooo funny and way cuter and now we are going on a date tomorrow night!! Never been more excited to meet with a guy I met online!!
