Fear Factory

Industrial metal band that started out being a boderline Death metal band in 1991. Their vocalist, Burton Bell, was the first to introduce both death metal growling and switching to clean vocals. Fear Factory evolved into a sharper, more aggressive sound, and progressed from death metal to industrial with hints of techno here and there. They focus on how humankind is too addicted to technology to the point of being helpless without it, and see technology as the eventual downfall of humanity.
Demanufacture and Obsolete are good albums by Fear Factory.

Fear Factory

Primarily an American Industrial/Cyber/Death/Thrash metal band.

However, in an interview conducted some time ago, Burton Bell stated that a Fear Factory (paraphrase) is "any institution that manufactures fear".
An example of a fear factory is "any institution that manufactures fear, such as a religious organization or government".

A Band, One of the Best Bands!
Fear Factory is an Awesome Band!

fear factory

A undeniably awesome Industrial Metal band. I love Burton Bell's vocals. Sounds very refreshing to most of today's growling and screaming vocals. Their first album sucked but that is pretty much it. They sing about how mankind is obsolete to the machines and how it should be the other way around. They are awesome, yet they have the potential to be so much better. I say this because if they focused just on being pure metal they would be god-like. You may be saying "that is why they are 'industrial'" But some of their songs incorporate rap(Back the fuck up) and emo(Digimortal). I do not like that I think if they eliminated those two things they could be much better and still be considered Industrial Metal. Don't get me wrong this band is very awesome and I cannot wait to see them live again. I love this band but what I just said I think can make them a lot better.
Some of Fear Factory's even incorporate electronica and techno if you listen close enough.

Fear Factor

a "reality" tv show that shows how desperate americans are for money.

The Fear Factor

A sex position in which one member is hanging out of a window, over a balcony, or of the edge of a cliff.
She wanted the fear factor so I bent her over the balcony.

Fear Factor

A show that tries to scare you, if you overcome your fear you win $50,000. Stunts usually involve (and are limited to) eating animal organs, something that has to do with getting out of a closed cage underwater (this "cage" can range from an actual cage to a car, but its pretty much the same event), and heights (you have a harness so there really is no fear involved).

The verdict: this show is a pathetic attempt at scaring people and only works on those who are foolish enough to think that dangling 100 feet up in the air WITH A HARNESS is scary. Avoid this show at all costs and spend your evenings doing something more productive.
Idiot - Yo I just watched Fear Factor! This guy had to eat balls, swim, AND run on a platform in the air with flags!

Me - cool?

Idiot - I wish I could eat balls to win $50,000...

Me - omfg you need to die....now

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
