Faulknerism, derived from Faulkner, is the idea of altering one’s public image to be mysterious and incomprehensible to those who surround the individual. Typically utilised and executed by members of the human race with high IQ.

“You see him?”

Did you see Claire Faulknerize Sam earlier today? They could hear her three floors down. Man Claire moved through the six steps like a border collie in a weave pole contest.

Faulkneresque

A hipster way of saying that you are getting drunk off your ass and writing. Typically accompanied or brought on by Pabst Blue Ribbon, some “good” wine, and pita chips with hummus.

The writing style is typically similar to the works of William Faulkner, in that they resemble a stream of consciousness.

The person writing it will always adore whatever they wrote in this state.

Last night, I was Faulkneresque and wrote like ten pages about this kid who grew up in eighties.

When your family is country, raw, tragic, and cold like characters in a William Faulkner novel. Any time you feel like you might feel like you are in Faulkner novel. Hence, Faulknerian. Southern Gothic.
