Famgopoly

Tech companies that have grown so large in size and scope that they can easily enter any market and put smaller, existing businesses to rest. Famgopolies are comprised of the so-called "FAAMG" tech companies (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google), and they act like a bigger, broader form of the old school monopoly, hence famgopoly.

Monopolies of old used to own all of an existing market. Famgopolies, instead, crush businesses by all deciding to add new markets as "features". They leverage their existing cross-market dominance to make new offerings in new markets for free, making it impossible for the existing market the famgopoly entered to compete. Or if they let anyone survive, they tax them with app store or distribution fees for something that was previously free or handled by the defeated parties themselves.

Who knew movies were free? Use your Amazon Prime or Apple One subscription. (Good luck smaller studios.)

Look no further than the fact that Amazon is an online retailer, music distributor, film studio, and grocery store (and a dozen other things).

Google is casually trying to put a bunch of device companies out of business. Price pressure them, then buy off their assets for cheap.

Just like in the movie Demolition Man, where everything became Taco Bell, soon everything will now become the famgopolies. Hope you enjoy your Applebee's dinner as microwaved and delivered by Google. Please like subscribe and you'll be allotted fresh air credits.
My business was destroyed by the famgopoly. Now I work on a pig farm.
