One of those great games that are on the DL when it comes to advertising. Largely unapreciated.
You play as a really hideous (like no one sees it...just say it -_-) warty warrior named Beethro who was sent to dungeons to
kill evil
monster things that were attracted by the fat lazy kings crumbs of
food. Hmm. You have a large sword that separates you from the monsters. Every step you take, the monsters take a step too. The
game is
2-D, and you see the whole room from overhead. What is pretty
tight about this
game is, there ARE no lives, you just start the room over again. This fact makes the game a puzzle/strategy game. Not only do you have to
kill creatures, you must open doors by striking confusing switches to finish the room. Each level is like a maze; the mazes consist of the rooms. You must defeat all of the rooms to go up the stairs to the next level.
For MIDI
music, I think it's actually really good. And the graphics aren't too bad, either.
Whenever Beethro gets killed, he makes this odd face of despair and spook that used to scare the crap out of me. (There is a
box with his face on it on the very top left, so you can look at his beautiful face)
