Crossfit Gamer

A gamer (usually an FPS player) who participates in a brutal or punishing game, and will not let you forget it. Usually belittles or mocks people who play for fun or for any reason other than to grind or ruin the fun for someone else. Tend to over-value their opinion and often bring up their favorite Gamer Crossfit title in unrelated conversations so that you think they're cool, or more credible.

Occasionally spotted in Singleplayer games that heavily emphasize skill expression or speedrunning.

Guy 1: "As a tarkov player..."
Guy 2: "We have a crossfit gamer over here!"

Gamer Crossfit

Games (typically shooters) that advertise themselves on their 'hardcore' experience, usually citing permadeath and randomly occurring PvP as major selling points. These games go on to gain a community culture and reputation around being punishing, often becoming toxic and unwelcoming in the process, with community members viewing themselves as superior gamers. People who regularly play and brag about their participation in these games are known as "crossfit gamers" respectively.

Guy 1: "Hey man, I was going to play some Escape from Tarkov tonight, wanna squad up?"
Guy 2: "No thanks, I don't get off on Gamer Crossfit."
