Communivolve

Communivolve signifies a collective evolution within cultural institutions, addressing the call for inclusive, caring, and socially responsible practices. It represents a profound departure from traditional hierarchies to embrace a communal and intersectional approach, drawing inspiration from feminist, queer, indigenous, and anti-racist struggles.

"In the context of cultural institutions, communivolve speaks to a reimagining of power dynamics, the redistribution of resources, and a more equitable valuing of the contributions of all involved."

Cultural institutions adopting communivolve actively work to dismantle systemic issues, embracing horizontal structures that recognize and amplify diverse voices. The term emphasizes an ongoing, adaptive journey, stressing continuous learning, unlearning, and responsiveness to evolving community needs. It highlights a collective, shared responsibility, fostering genuine engagement, local resourcing, and environmental consciousness.

In summary, communivolve serves as a call to cultural institutions to shed care-less practices, adopt communal responsibility, and actively evolve toward inclusive, equitable, and socially conscious models. It encapsulates not just a destination but an ongoing commitment to transformative change, embodying the spirit of collective care.

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.

Foot prisons

Socks. Annoying, sweat-causing, non-barefoot enducing, everyday socks.
The first thing I do when I take off my shoes, is rip off the foot prisons I had to wear inside them. That's why I prefer flip flops, even in winter!
