The Call of Duty Cycle

A cycle used to describe how the Call of Duty community works, how they spend their money, and how they reminisce of the old games they played that they once called the worst game in history.
Step 1: Person buys the newest Call of Duty game for $60
Step 2: Person plays the game for 6 months MAXIMUM
Step 3: Person starts to say how much a piece of shit the game they bought was
Step 4: Person complains on community forums
Step 5: Person reminisces about the last Call of Duty game they bought, the ones before it, and states how good they were.
Step 6: Person waits for the next game, in large hopes that the newest game in the franchise will be better than the last.
Step 7: Repeat.
Person: Dude. For the past years, I realized how much of a crappy title Call of Duty is. I spend around $120 a year plus DLC, rage about how unfinished the game is, and always say how the old games were better. No more of this nonsense! I'm going to get myself a girlfriend, have passionate sex with her, and get my life back on track!

Nosrep: Holy Crap. I think you're the first person I've ever seen exit The Call of Duty Cycle.

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
