The practice by which governments, corporations, or organizations attempt to present themselves as ethical, humane, or progressive on issues related to borders, migration, or refugee policies—while simultaneously engaging in or supporting harmful, exclusionary, or exploitative practices toward migrants, refugees, or border communities.
