Something that was once beautiful and sweet that is now rotten and foul. Usually referring to feelings for someone.

Friend: Hey bro, why don't you talk to Shy anymore
Me: Thing took a turn for the worse with us.
Friend: Rotten Fruit

Me: Yeah...
