To speak rudely or sarcastically when answering a question. Usually done by children to their parents or teachers.

I took my son's Xbox away for a week because when I asked him when he was going to clean his room, he decided to answer back.

Back answer 

To reply to someones question or statement by farting loudly on queue while ignoring that person.

I asked a question of my partner and all they did was back answer from in the shower.
