Americocentrism

1. The mindset that the United States/U.S. culture is the default and the immediate assumption that everything pertains to it unless stated otherwise.

2. Thinking that the U.S. is the centre of the universe and everything revolves around it.
Americocentrism is pretty easy to find, especially on the internet.

Ex. 1: A reddit user is talking about an experience of theirs and mentions that they went out drinking with some friends when they were 18-20 and some commenter thinks that they were drinking illegally despite the fact that OP never mentioned what country they were in, or what the legal drinking age is.
Ex. 2: Someone tells you that you spelled "centre" wrong.
Ex. 3: Someone who thinks that America is better than every other country and assumes that every other country wants to be America.

Americocentric

Adj.: A well-documented tendency of internet memes and surveys to ask questions about stuff that has absolutely no relevance to people outside the US.
What an effing Americocentric question! Now, excuse me while I go drink some wine with a delicious goat's cheese and maybe some force-fattened goose liver!

Americentrism

The morally and fundamentally correct elitist belief that America is by far the single greatest nation in the history of the world.
"The fact that we have saved the world on multiple occasions from certain destruction is a testament to a true belief in Americentrism"

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
