God blessed us with these four geniuses. The best band in the entire freaking world (That’s right Beatles, you’ve been outsold.) Wrote catchy-ass bops that anyone with a brain cell knows. They’ve sold around 390-410 million records as of 2018.

The band consists of: Queen Agnetha Fältslay, Björn-Born-A-Woke-Lyricist-Ulvaeus, Benny Bearded Bear Andersson (aka if Mozart and Chopin had a child) and the only non-blonde non-Swedish member Ginger Feminist Queen Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad. They all met in the 60’s as solo artists. They released their first song as a band in 1972, the yodeling People Need Love. They tried to represent Sweden in the 1973 Eurovision but were beaten by two dudes comparing their girl’s boobs to swallows (Not a Lie) but they managed to do it in 1974, and they won the contest that year, making history as the first Swedish act to do so. They went on to become the biggest band of the Seventies, releasing legendary songs like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Knowing Me Knowing You (AHAAA) They broke down the “Only American and British Acts Are Sucessful” barrier.

They broke up in 1982, but their musical Mamma Mia which was first premiered in 1998, has been seen by over 350 million people and earned £2 billion. Their 1992 Greatest Hits Album has become the second best selling album of all time and their movie Mamma Mia is the highest grossing musical movie of all time.

IMPACT.

So basically to sum all that up, ABBA are the shit, and we love them.

Swedish group most prominent throughout the Seventies. Consisted of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid (Frida) Lyngstad. Became famous after winning the Eurovision Song Contest. Songs are now used as the basis for the hit musical Mamma Mia! which has played to packed houses the world over. Most Yanks became aware of ABBA when they saw the film 'Muriel's Wedding' which proves that even in the Seventies, septics could not tell good music from the crap all over the radio. But that is another story.
ABBA Fan: 'You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen...'

Non-ABBA-Fan: ABBA SUCK! CHINGY* ROCKS!

ABBA Fan: 'Thank you for the music... the songs I'm singing...'

* You can substitute Chingy's name with that of any American artist on the radio today.

ABBA - A swedish pop group of four members, popular during the '70s and early '80s. The name is derived from their initials; Anni-frid (Frida) Lyngstad, Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Agnetha Faltskog.
Both Frida and Agnetha have successful solo-careers, while Benny & Bjorn have two musicals based on their work, Mamma Mia and Chess. The 1994 movie Muriel's Wedding has also helped introduce younger generations to ABBA's music.
ABBA had such hits as: The Day Before You Came, SOS, The Winner Takes it All, Knowing Me Knowing You, as well as many less popular but just as enjoyable ones, among which are: Cassandra, Elaine, That's Me and Crazy World.

Multitalented musical legends. They have done disco, rock & roll, and probably a few other genres as well. About 25 years later, the songs "Dancing Queen", "Fernando" and "Mamma-Mia" are still heard just about everywhere, but those aren't near their best songs. You hear one of those 3 disco songs, and don't expect them to do rock & roll, right? Well then you're WRONG, because they made rock songs like "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", "Money, Money, Money", and "Summer Night City"...listen to one of those. Bang your head and thrash around as necessary. Then listen to their pop and disco stuff and get a different vibe. See? See how legendary they are? Most of their songs are amazing, and enjoyable by just about everyone, whether you're an adult who grew up listening to it, a teenager whose parents listened to it growing up, whatever. The power of ABBA touches all.
I listen to ABBA while I play my Sonic games. I listen to ABBA while I play Super Monkey Ball 2. I prefer to listen to ABBA when I'm kicking somebody's hind parts, whether it's in a video game or not. ABBA is great rollerskating music as well. ABBA enhances all performance.

A pop group from the seventies characterized by their incredibly catchy songs and cliched but loveable lyrics. Consists of four members. The men wrote the songs and produced, while the girls sang the songs. Anna-Frid was the truly talented one, but Aganetha got to sing most of the songs because she had sex appeal.
What's your favorite ABBA song? Mine is probably "The Winner Takes It All" or "If It Wasn't For The Nights".

1. I love ABBA! Their catchy tunes never get old!

2. Man, I don't speak a word of Spanish, but I can ABBA my whole way through "Oye Como Va".
