Then a category is chosen. The athletes then take turns sending one another material, usually images that match the category with the intent of sexually arousing their opponent. The opponent then rates the image on a scale of 1-10 in terms of how much the image sexually arouses them. The number the gooner rates the image is subtracted from the gooner's overall hit points. Both competitors must be edging the whole time. If one of these athletes rates an image either an 8, 9, or 10, in addition to losing the hit points, the gooner is punished typically in the form of a publicly humiliating act, usually in a dedicated humiliation punishment discord channel. The battle ends when someone either runs out of hit points, or is brought to premature orgasm, and the loser is subject to a particularly bad humiliation punishment agreed to at the beginning of the 8/9/10 battle. The 8/9/10 battle requires honesty about your arousal and due to the fear of lying, alternate rules that include a third party judge to rate the images can be used.
