#BoycottChunithm

#BoycottChunithm is the name of the event that went down on X formally known as twitter on April Fool's of 2024, twitter user @chunisun started a joke about CHUNITHM being a 'copy' of Project Sekai, which was then spread amongst her followers then to the rhythm gaming community itself. @shiaidk created a copypasta containing the tag #BoycottChunithm, which @chunisun quote retweeted and told her followers to use the hashtag. It got so big it was a trending hashtag on twitter. The joke is that CHUNITHM is also made by Sega who made Project Sekai.

Person 1: Did you hear about #BoycottChunithm?
Person 2: Yeah dude it's crazy, I can't believe CHUNITHM would copy Project Sekai.
Person 1: Yeah man! Down with Gekichumai! I stand with #BoycottChunithm, Project Sekai better!
