In the movies/TV, we sometimes see the characters from the point of view of some as-yet-unseen monster. The camera frequently pans back and forth or moves through tall grass or bushes. The purpose is to help build suspense.

Something is stalking the survivors on Lost, but we mostly only see the monstercam footage.
