Synonymous with the action of dropping a deuce due to the fact that the Barnes and Noble bathrooms are so well kept up that the famed bookstore is the place to go if one ever needs to pinch a loaf in public.

"Where is Reggie Noble?"

"Noble Work" is a phrase that is used within NASA, and perhaps other technological contexts, to indicate the high value parts of a large project that are thought to be particularly interesting and desirable to work on. This is in contrast to other parts of the same project that are though to be mundane or ordinary.
Examples of Noble Work include building the scientific instruments within a mission like the Hubble Space Telescope. An example of non-Noble Work would be buying relatively low tech components that are made by others, or performing some necessary but intellectually uninspiring function like monitoring work contracts for Noble Work that gets done by others.

An American bookseller, with the largest number of retail outlets in the United States. Founded in New York City in 1886 as Arthur Hinds & Company. Renamed to Hinds & Noble when Gilbert Clifford Noble was made a partner, then renamed to Barnes & Noble after Noble purchased the company and hired William Barnes. Now operates over 600 retail stores nationwide and is a Mecca for book lovers like me. Many have cafés that serve Starbucks coffee.
