Hipsters, they suck the life out of a neighborhood and move once there too many of them there. Because they hate each other just like everyone else hates them.
In some ways, it's low self esteem personalized into a culture. They think they belong in another culture because they hate the culture that's around them, including themselves.
So they feel the need to move constantly. Because insecure people are never happy so they keep moving because they blame everyone else around them for the way their life has turned out. And in the process other people pay for their insecurities.

Hipster 1: I really hate this neighborhood, it's full of hipsters. Everywhere I go, I spot people wearing band shirts like mine, they're such wannabes. I'm sure none of them heard of the Snot Rocketeers.
Hipster 2: (bong rip) I heard of this place in Pennsylvania named Brooklyn. Since we live in Brooklyn now, wouldn't it be ironic if we move out of Brooklyn to live in Brooklyn?

A person, usually in their 20s, who likes indie music, alternative lifestyles, indie films, riding fixed gear bikes, and hanging out in bars and other places you probably never heard of.
An actual hipster doesn't go around saying things like "I'm so hipster" or "I'm such a hipster" because hipster isn't a thing to be or a subculture, a hipster just is, despite people who say hipsters spend their time trying composing their whole persona. Most don't.
Hipsters are not scene kids, as the generally don't listen to overly emotional music by scremo bands, they usually tend to listen to music by boring bands, mature bands, and experimental stuff. Even though the music can suck, it tops scene kid music any day.
Hipster style is usually outlandish, but ranges to plain an no flashy. Thick rim glasses, usually darker(not goth or emo dark) or earth tone clothes. Normalized colors, but outlandish way of dressing.
A hipster do not have wild hair, people get them confused with scene kids, hipsters usually wear hair that's less outlandish that scene kids, and they usually sport one solid color, unlike scene kids. And while they do, their hair still seems dirty, and less composed.
They also like vintage things, music, clothing items, video games, photographing, books, and even homes, vintage is a plus for hipsters.

To dress in neutral colored skinny jeans, wear boat shoes and loafers, rock some fake-wooden nerd glasses, and wear only tribal and Ragland, but more commonly, tribal raglans.
Hipsters generally claim ownership to starting new trends and fads.

"Wow! Did you see Joseph's tribal printed shirt and boat shoes today?"
"Yeah! Homeboy looked like a total hipster!"

A modern term for a teen or young adult who goes out of their way to appear "cool" or "hip". They are usually whiny selfish self-entitled immature brats that grew up with reasonably well off parents who gave them most of the things they wanted and consider those without the latest "hip" things to not be on their level. They think they are better than people who arn't hipsters and walk like they are God's gift to the planet.
Hanging out with a hipster usually entails watching them check their Iphone or smartphone every few seconds (ususally strangely a lot more times if there happens to be a cute boy or girl nearby i guess to appear important or fly) when they do talk to you its usually about nothing but themselves or some "cool" band nobody's ever heard of or cares about. They will want to be seen in the trendiest clothing stores or cafe's and if they do purchase anything in any of these places its more than likely on mummy or daddies credit card. Their smugness and arrogance will soon make you start worrying about the risk of a possible assault charge if your blood pressure continues to soar. You find you have to remove yourself from their immediate proxomity.

"you see those hipsters who showed up at that party last weekend? they just breezed on in staring at their Iphone's not even looking at anyone and acting like they owned the place"

One can either be a hipster or exhibit hipster tendencies.
Necessary Ingredients:
Skinny jeans, if you don't have any you can substitute leggings as a replacement. Off kilter music taste i.e. yeah yeah yeahs, m.i.a., people the average person hasn't heard of, and anything indie or considered weird. Usually art enthusiasts. Often pierced or tattooed. Shopping at 2nd hand stores and going thrifting is a way of life, Urban Outfitters is also a home away from home. Most parties include PBR. It's not unusual to see one with a bike. In addition, it helps if you top all of that off with a pair of glasses, you can use a variety but one's that resemble something that Kanye West owns or worn by a librarian in the 80s/80s inspired would work. Economically, some can be secret trust fun hoarders, some can be broke city dwellers, and some can fall right in the middle, it varies. Rejection of the mainstream is highly encouraged but whether or not all hipsters do that is arguable. Some are also fond of wearing a scarf or rag in with the previously stated look and MANY exist on tumblr.

2 Friends on the street.
Friend #1: I wonder how that kid can ride a bike with their pants being so tight?
Friend #2: Their probably a hipster.

The epitome of a poser. A person in the teens, or 20s that thinks not being into mainstream stuff makes them cool. Usually stuff that was popular way before their time (i.e. cassettes). This group wasn't even thought of or old enough to remember the 80s, or 90s. Yet acts as if they're the supreme authority on both decades. Not realizing the stuff they like such as the fashion they wear was worn decades before. Unlike the 30+ crowd which actually grew up with cassettes, vcrs, denim high waisted shorts. So therefore can never be hipsters. These teenyboppers, and twenty something are posers. Also might add that hipsters, and bohemians aren't the same thing. Bohemians are artistically inclined, hipsters are just about image.
Teen 1: I'm so cool, look at me! I'm listening to a portable cassette player. I'm such a hipster!
30 something: So what? Thanks to Ebay, and Etsy. Anyone can buy one, and so what? I had the real thing when they were popular

"These dictionary entries on hipsters are so comical! I'm going to email this link to 800 of my closest acquaintances, head to Value Village, grab a chai and then play kickball in a headband and short-shorts."
