goober

A person who unintentionally does ridiculously silly things that make everyone around them laugh, while at the same time pitying anyone who has to live with that person. Often the actions of said person cause friends to clap their hands to their foreheads while their heads droop down, shaking back and forth.
He grabbed the foam sword from the aisle at Kmart and brandished it threateningly as the thing flopped back and forth.
"Stand and fight, you scurvy braggard!" (this in english accent)
*Grabs silly sword from goober and puts back in cardboard box as his face falls comically*
"You goober!" *shakes head and laughs*

A slang term used in Barnsley to refer to a intellectually challenged person; aka Chav, Idiot, Moron, Muppet or Pillock.

Mostly used by people working with the general public in an enquiry desk position.
Public person; "Why is driving without car insurances wrong ?"

Enquiry Desk Person; "Errrm... because it's against the law ! "

Public person leaves and enquiry desk person says to colleague "What a goober ! "
