Usually travels in packs just large enough to require a full pot to satisfy all of them. As a general rule, coffee vultures never brew coffee themselves, even if they leave a completely empty pot. Rather, they prefer to wait with empty cup, keeping ears and noses perked for the next unsuspecting rube to brew more.

This is usually done because the "vulture" is too lazy to take a spot further away from the entrance. Universities and large chain stores are usually full of parking lot vultures much like a desert is full of actual vultures.
