Common term amongst fellow South LA surfer dudes, schwack is a term often used to describe the sound of a surfboard hitting the wave. However, schwack can also describe a how weird and out of the ordinary something is.

schwack'l

A Yinglish term for a person of Hispanic descent. The word is a combination of the Yiddish word "Schwartze" meaning "black person" and the Yinglish word "Schtick'l" meaning "a little of something." Literally translated, "A little of black."

The word came into popular usage in Miami, Florida in the 1960's by Jews for the mass immigration of Cubans to Miami. It is generally used in a derogatory context.

I went to the drug store today in Hialeah, and the schwack'l behind the counter couldn't understand a damn thing I was saying because, "she no speaka da English."
